Lady Zainab, daughter of Imam Ali (peace be upon them both): For those who know the story and events of Karbala and Ashura, a few seconds of thought about what the name "Zainab" means to us can go something along the lines of: bravery, courage, strength, passion, dedication, love, leader, and most prominent for most, sacrifice.
The Meritorious Lady
She was born in Medina on the 5th of the month of Jamadi al-Awwal in the 6th year of the Hijra. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was overjoyed at the birth of his first grand daughter and named her Zainab, which means Ornament of the Father. The loving father, Imam Ali ibn Abi Taleb (A.S) was overjoyed as well and so was the mother, the Prophets daughter Hazrat Fatima Zahra (A.S).

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution there has been great increase in the numbers of pilgrims visiting the holy and the need for the creation of more pilgrimage spaces, welfare and cultural facilities for the pilgrims was greatly felt. With the appointment of Hojjat al- Islam Wal Muslimeen Muhammadi Ray Shahri as the chief reverend custodian of the holy shrine, the Grand Expansion Project to greatly expand the pilgrimage spaces in the holy shrine was implemented as a national development plan. This great expansion project has been successfully implemented in an area of 120000 sq.metres.

The authorities have established a library with all the needed facilities to preserve the rare manuscripts and provide educational and research facilities to the scholars and students. The library is supervised by expert and experienced staff.

It is narrated that Hazrat Abulfazl Al-Abbas (A.S) never sat next to Imam Hussein (A.S) without permission; he asked for permission and when he was allowed, he sat very politely. (1)

Politeness is a trait which is highly recommended in Islam. There are many traditions on politeness in Islamic texts. There are also many figures who are considered as examples of politeness. But Hazrat Abbas is a unique figure in this regard. He is role-model for the youth. He was raised by his father the Commander of the Faithtul, Imam Ali (A.S).
Qasim Ibn Hassan, The Adolescent Warrior Who Sacrificed His Life in Defense of Religion
Among the famed warriors of Imam Hussein (A.S) whose names would remain alive till the end of the world is the son of our second Imam Hassan (A.S), Qasim Ibn Hassan. According to traditions he had not even reached the age of maturity. As regards his age, most reports say that he was hardly thirteen years old.
