Chastity and Piety of Zainab (PBUH)
Chastity and piety are the most admirable virtues for women. Zainab learned chastity in the school of her father. Her father used to say: a martyred fighter who lays his life in the way of Allah, will not be rewarded more than a person who is powerful but is chaste, that is, who can commit sin but refrains from doing it. A chaste person is very close to angels.”[1]
Eloquence and articulateness of Hazrat Zainab (PBUH)
Having innate talent is not enough for an orator who wants to talks in an eloquent and articulate manner, they must repeatedly practice; they must also be completely prepared physically and psychically during orating as to be able to present an eloquent and articulate speech.
“The Sun of Rey”
Being related to pious people, particularly the Prophet and his Progeny (PBUT) has always been appreciated by everyone. Nonetheless, being related to the Prophet and his family (PBUT) is only valuable when the holder of such status can benefit from it; otherwise, it is worthless. This is similar to the knowledge that is not under practice by the owner and does not guarantee any guidance.
The Aftermath of Karbala
After the supreme sacrifice had been accepted and our Imam Hussain (as) had been martyred, a gloomy silence hung over the battlefield of Karbala.
Lady Zainab (A.S) Speaks in the Court of Yazid
After the massacre of Imam Husayn bin 'Ali (a.s.) and his companions at Karbala, the forces of Yazid bin Mu'awiyah took the children and women of Husayn's caravan as prisoners. They were taken from Karbala to Kufa and from Kufa to Damascus, the capital and stronghold of Umayyid power.
Hazrat Zaynab (SA), Lady of Faith, Lady of Strength
At the death of the Mu’awiyah I, Imam Hussein (AS) set out from Medina to Kufa to claim the leadership of the Muslim community. Hadhrat Zaynab (SA) accompanied him, as did most of his household. After Imam Hussein’s death at the Battle of Karbala, Hadhrat Zaynab (SA) was taken prisoner by the army of Yazid I, Mu’awiyah’s son and successor. Hadhrat Zaynab (SA) and the other survivors of Imam Hussein’s expedition, most of them women and children, were marched to Damascus, Yazid’s capital, where they were held prisoner. Hadhrat Zaynab (SA) was in anguish due to the death of her brother Imam Hussein (AS) and her sons Aun and Muhammad.
The Martyrdom of Ali al-Akbar
Since none of the companions who fought with Hussain was spared, members of his immediate family got ready to make the ultimate sacrifice in a manner that was characteristic of the pedigree of the Prophet - sheer determination, unrivalled bravery, and scant regard to personal safety.
The young companions of Imam Hossain(as)
Aun and Muhammad were the sons of Bibi Zainab, and they were quite young, aged ten (10) and nine (9) years respectively. They had learnt the art of fencing from their uncle, Abbas the brave.
The Mother of Her Sons (Part 1)
Lady Fatima, daughter of Hizam bin Khalid bin Rabi, more commonly referred to as Lady Ummul Baneen (peace be upon her), ranks among the most esteemed and pious of Muslim women to this date and will remain so due to her courage, piety, and steadfastness towards the Prophet and his Household (peace be upon them).
The Mother of Her Sons (Part 2)
Lady Ummul Baneen loved the Prophet's family more than she loved her own sons. When news of the heart-breaking events of Karbala reached her, she did not ask about the fate of her four sons first and instead said, "Tell me about Hussein", and when she received the news of Imam Hussein's martyrdom, she said: "All of the arteries of my heart are torn. May all of my children and whatever that exists under this azure heaven be sacrificed for the sake of Imam Hussein."
