As we see in the twenty first verse of the sacred surah of Ahzab (The Allies), the Great Prophet (PBUH) of Islam is a good sample for humanity up to the Doom's Day. Shaikh Kulaini narrates from Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S) or Imam Muhammad Baqir (A.S) that he said, "For increasing the measure of good deeds in the scales (meezan), no other deed carries weight than sending Salawat on Muhammad (PBUH) and His progeny.
