Signs of piety

One of the signs of piety is the comfort and tranquility of a person against troubles and difficulties. A person that is pious behaves against disasters and troubles as calmly as other persons gain comfort influenced by his or her mild behavior whereas most of persons become distressful and anxious against such disasters and troubles. Such persons have no fear and deal with bad events easily because they consider the source of all affairs God, believe in the prudence and wisdom of God and evaluate affairs as the prudence and wisdom of God. Therefore, such persons never become anxious and they have no fear and worry in their heart.
The other signs of piety within a person is to avoid committing minor and big sins and not to insist on committing even minor mistakes and sins. Hence, such a person never disgraces others in his or her social life and he or she never irritates others with his or her remarks and behaviors and never enjoys hurting others. Such persons avoid ridiculing at others. Moreover, they avoid calling others with ugly titles, remembering them with unpleasant names, boasting and considering themselves superior than others.

Signs of piety in political area

In the area of political action, pious persons avoid obeying foe of God and the guardianship of unbelievers, never accept their government and never have friendship and cooperation with hypocrites and unbelievers. Such persons try to defend the religion and the society and to apply all of their attempts to preserve it.
Such persons avoid corruption and devastation, do not like to damage the environment, like the sea and the land and try to preserve them.

They never violate the rights of others and never interfere in the affairs of others.

They are not suspicious of others, do not have false guesses about others and always try to judge about others honestly and fairly.

They never find faults in and backbite others.

In economic area, they never lend for profit and are not charmed by the world. Therefore, they never shortchange.

They avoid prostitution and repudiating and never irritate and tyrannize others.

They obey true orders and God, change their bad actions, help others, do favors for their family, do valuable actions, are trustees, admonish others to do right and avoid sin, to donate ( enfagh) and do other good and pleasant actions that are accepted by the religion and the community.
Hence, it can be said that a pious person fulfills obligations (vajebat), avoids prohibited things (haram) and disapproved but not forbidden things (makroohat) and acts recommended things (mostahabat). In this true path, he or she never avoids doing conventional good actions. There are such signs of piety in Quran and if we want to mention all of cases based on the verses of Quran, it needs a lot of pages. Hence, we mention only these general cases and remind that there are a lot of signs to recognize pious persons and we cannot consider a person pious and can not leave the responsibility of some these important and key positions to them without regarding such signs especially if this position has a close relationship with the religion, finance and life of human.
