Soheil As’ad told Al-Kawthar program “One Nation” that all Muslims consider the Holy Quran as the basis of Islam, noting that as the Quran is the word of Allah Almighty then it must be practically applied to the society, the Muslim family and the individual.

He further said that Ahl ul-Bayt (PBUH), the household of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), are the role model for all the Muslims as they are the “Speaking Quran” who apply the teachings of the Holy Quran and embody all the aspects of the Quran in their behavior.

All Muslims believe that Ahl ul-Bayt (PBUH) are the role model for the ideal Islamic character, As’ad stressed.

Describing the day of Ghadir as a prophetic inheritance, he said that event contributed to unite Muslims “under the banner of following the Silent Quran and following the Speaking Quran”.

The Islamic Unity requires efforts by all Muslims, noting that the first step to attain such unity is to have a clear explanation of the importance and the position of Ahl ul-Bayt (PBUH), the scholar said.

If Muslims correctly understood what Ahl ul-Bayt (PBUH) represent in Islam, the unity would be attained and would be a natural outcome, he added.

The Sunni Muslims and Shia Muslims have to understand Islam correctly and apply the teachings of the Quran and Ahl ul-Bayt (PBUH) in their practical life, thus the Islamic unity will be achieved, As’ad concluded.
