The center announced that the main objective of the program titled “Sorush-e Velayat” (messenger of religious authority) is to strengthen the religious beliefs in the community and enrich the participants’ knowledge about the Imamate and leadership of Imam Ali (AS) after the Holy Prophet's (PBUH) demise.
The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. local time with recitation of verses from the Quran and include poetry reading, speeches by Hojat-ol-Islam Naser Naqavian, eulogies and choral religious singing as well as cultural contests.
The event of Ghadir, or Eid al-Ghadir, is celebrated by Shia Muslims around the world every year. It is among important feasts and happy holidays of Shia Muslims held on the 18th day of Dhu l-Hijja in the lunar Hijri calendar.
It was the day when according to reports, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) appointed Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) as his caliph and the Imam after himself following an order from God.
