Is Bismillah a Part of (Every) Chapter?
Amongst the Shia scholars there exists no difference of opinion in the fact that Bismillah is part of Suratul Hamd and every chapter of the Noble Quran (except Suratul Taubah as shall be mentioned later)(1). Basically, the presence of Bismillah in the beginning of all the chapters in the text of the Quran is itself proof of this issue since we do know that nothing has been added to the text of the Qur`an and the mention of Bismillah, at the start of all chapters, has been prevalent since the time of the Noble Prophet (s.a.w) till today.
THE EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE
By the sky which returns." (Quran 86:11) "[He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling…" (Quran 2:22)
Quran, Hadith and Knowledge
The Quran, repeatedly calls on the believers to seek knowledge, "And He has subjected to you, as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: behold, in that are signs indeed for those who reflect." (45: 13)
What are the different names Allah gives to the Quran?
Allah the Exalted has mentioned many attributes to His book within the book itself, and each of those attributes tells us something unique about the Quran, helping us know it better. The more you know about a person’s attributes, the better you know them and the more your love for them increases. Is the Quran any different? Quran will come to you in the guise of a person and will intercede on behalf of you on the Day of Judgment.
STARS THAT HIDE AND MOVE SWIFTLY
Allah, the Almighty, says: I swear by the stars that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). And by the (cleaning) stars that move swiftly and hide themselves (I)
The Contraction motion that facilitates birth
“The pains of labor drove her to the trunk of a date-palm. She said, 'Oh if only I had died before this time and was something discarded and forgotten!' A voice called out to her from under her, 'Do not grieve! Your Lord has placed a small stream at your feet. Shake the trunk of the palm towards you and fresh, ripe dates will drop down onto you.' (Surah Maryam, 23-25)
Allah Has Power Over Everything
Allah, the Creator of everything, is the sole possessor of all beings. It is Allah Who heaps up the heavy clouds, heats and brightens the Earth, varies the direction of the winds, holds birds suspended up in the sky, splits the seed, makes a man's heart beat, ordains photosynthesis in plants, and keeps planets in their separate orbits.
THE SEA SET ON FIRE
This Qur’anic verse also comes in the context of an oath to emphasize the special significance of the subject matter by which the oath is given, as Allah (all glory be to Him) is definitely above the need to give such an oath. Now, what is the special significance of the ocean that is set on fire? Both water and fire were never thought to co-exist, as water quiches fire, and fire sets water to boiling and evaporation.
The Sun is a Great Lamp, and the Moon Gives Light
Blessed be He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light. Allah, the Almighty, says: [Blessed be He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light.] (Al-Furqan: 61) And, [And We have made (therein) a shining lamp (sun).] (An-Naba': 13)
Constriction of Breasts in the Sky
And whomsoever Allah wills to guide, He opens his breast to Islam; and whomsoever He wills to send astray, He makes his breast closed and constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky. Allah, the Almighty, says: [And whomsoever Allah wills to guide, He opens his breast to Islam; and whomsoever He wills to send astray, He makes his breast closed and constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky.] (Al-An`am: 125)
